Graduation Portraits at the University of North Carolina | Chapel Hill Photographer
‘Tis the season where my Facebook feed is filled with families, joy, and graduation photos! I love seeing the happy grads, their families gathered together, and friends hugging and celebrating the journey they’ve taken together.
No matter where they’ve graduated, or in what field, they’ve walked away knowing something more than when they started. Graduation signifies a change in the person and in the world around us.
It was Nelson Mandela who said,
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
When it comes time to capture this milestone event of graduation, don’t forget to capture the places that were a part of your journey.
No matter where you went to school – high school, a 2- or 4-year college or grad school, you spent time in a building and on a campus. You spent time with peers, and you built friendships. You walked down hallways and across greenways. These are personal to you, and become a part of who you are.
When my client phoned me to say she’d like portraits done with her son, a recent graduate of UNC’s School of Pharmacy, she was prepared with a list of places that were personal to her son and his journey as a graduate student.
Beard Hall was a must (so many classes and so much time spent there!),
as was UNC’s Old Well (traditions are everything!).
More importantly, it is the people who accompany us on each of our journeys that matter. They remind us who we are as we continue to develop into the people – and professionals – we want to become.
Congratulations on your recent graduation from UNC’s Eshelman School of Pharmacy, Dr. Jones!
