One family and three generations | Menlo Park, CA Family Photography

When a client that I have worked with previously calls me and says she’d like to book another session, I am thrilled and humbled at the same time.  I am thrilled because I get to do the work I love.  I get to pick up a camera, adjust my settings, and create a photograph that will inspire a family with the memories of this day.

I am humbled because I have photographed this family before, and when Dad says to me, “Thank you for making this so much fun!” I want to say – no, no, it was me who had all the fun!  You posed and smiled and listened to my directive to face the light and look this way and do this thing.  So…it’s fair to say, my clients easily become my friends in these sessions because we have so much fun in capturing these moments together.

When this same family suggests we get together while the grandparents are in town, well – that’s just fab!  Three generations that come together must mean one thing…LAUGHTER!  Great deep-down-from-the-belly-and-throw-your-head-back kind of laughter and, well, that’s just my kind of thing.  Throw in some hugging and some tree-climbing, and it’s official – we, three generations of one family and a photographer – are having the time of our lives.

I am grateful for the joy that this family shares with me year after year, and I look forward to more of their great joy and great love for one another.
